Isibani Sethemba seeks to appoint a Director, based in KwaZulu-Natal.
Responsibilities:
Organisation development
- Develop and maintain an overall strategic plan for the organisation through a participatory and collaborative process with the staff, governance Board and donors;
- Through a participatory process, review the organisational structure and policies of the organisation and propose amendments to the governance Board as necessary;
- In association with the staff management team and the governance Board, review and evaluate the effectiveness and relevance of the organisation’s programmes.
- Oversee the management of the overall functioning of the organisation in accordance with the organisation’s established policies and government laws and regulations;
- Ensure the development of work plans that are in line with the organisation’s vision, mission and objectives;
- Ensure the monitoring and evaluation of the organisation’s implemented work plans and activities;
- Project manage and manage information flow for various grant;
- Manage and supervise Managers;
- Ensure the effective line management of other staff members;
- Ensure quality and timely reporting of programmatic to the governance Board and donors;
- Ensure the implementation of a comprehensive risk management programme that includes risks to the organisation, staff, patients and visitors;
- Participate as a member of the governance Board;
- Organise and attend all board meetings and perform secretarial functions;
- Facilitate regular communications between the governance Board, staff and donors;
- Facilitate teamwork, mutual support and sharing of lessons amongst staff, volunteers and other resource persons;
- Draw up annual budget in consultation with the board and managers;
- Monitor expenditure of the organisation against the budget.
- Coordinate and manage fundraising manager for the organisation; manages the day to day functions of fundraising operations;
- Represent the organisation at national and international fora;
- Ensure good relations and policy and programme coordination between the organisation, other local NGOs and CBOs, key government bodies, donors and other important stakeholders;
- Attempt to positively influence government policy to assist the local community to become less dependent on intervention and more self-sustaining.
