Through the Public Procurement and Social Economy (PPSE) project, ILO explores the potential to use public procurement to stimulate the social economy in South Africa. It is delivered in partnership with the Provincial Government of KwaZulu-Natal and the Municipalities of Umkhanyakude and eThekwini. The project works both on the demand side (clarifying and influencing the interpretation of procurement regulations, and creating greater procurement opportunities) and the supply side (building the capacity of social economy enterprises to respond to these opportunities).
The ILO Decent Work Team (ILO DWT) for Eastern and Southern Africa, and ILO Country Office for Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland, (ILO DWT) CO PRETORIA seek to appoint a National Project Coordinator (NPC), based in Pietermaritzburg or Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Position Grade: NO-B.
Responsibilities:
- In association with the implementing partners and ILO colleagues, manage the PPSE project and ensure effective implementation and monitoring of all project components;
- Provide technical advisory services and conduct seminars, workshops and technical meetings and training courses;
- Represent the project at provincial, national and international levels and will maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
- Experience in project management;
- Experience and technical expertise in social economy enterprise development.
